About CrowdStrike
What is CrowdStrike?
CrowdStrike is a global cyber security company, founded in 2011, known for its Falcon platform for endpoint protection, threat intelligence and incident response. Falcon was designed as a cloud-native platform from the start: a single lightweight agent on each device sends security data to CrowdStrike’s cloud, where it’s analysed using threat intelligence and machine learning. CrowdStrike is widely used by large enterprises and increasingly by mid-size organisations, and its threat intelligence and incident response teams are well known in the security industry.
What is CrowdStrike Falcon?
Falcon is CrowdStrike’s security platform, made up of modules that run through one agent and one console. Core modules include next-generation antivirus, endpoint detection and response, device control and firewall management, and additional modules cover identity protection, cloud security, exposure management and log management. CrowdStrike also offers managed services such as threat hunting and fully managed detection and response.

Is CrowdStrike right for you?
Good fit if…
- You want a best-of-breed EDR independent of your productivity platform
- You have a mixed Windows, macOS and Linux estate
- You’re regulated or a higher-value target
Consider alternatives if…
- Your Microsoft 365 licences already include Defender and that meets your needs
- You want firewall and endpoint from one vendor (consider Sophos or Fortinet)
- You need the simplest possible setup with minimal tuning
Alternatives: Microsoft Defender, Sophos

Responsible sensor and update management
Security software runs deep inside the operating system, so updates must be managed carefully. In July 2024, a faulty CrowdStrike content update caused widespread Windows outages globally, a reminder for every security vendor and customer about update practices. We use staged update policies where the platform allows, keep critical systems on controlled update channels, maintain recovery procedures, and monitor vendor advisories closely. This applies to every endpoint platform we manage, not only CrowdStrike.
CrowdStrike with our SOC
Falcon detections can feed into our Managed SOC alongside Microsoft 365, firewall and server logs, giving a complete picture of an attack across systems. Our analysts investigate, contain threats using Falcon’s response tools within agreed limits, and report in plain English.
Who uses CrowdStrike
Financial services and fintech, technology companies, healthcare, logistics and supply chain, professional services, and organisations with high-value data or mixed device estates. It’s also common where clients or regulators expect enterprise-grade EDR.
Migrating to CrowdStrike Falcon
Switching endpoint protection must be done without leaving devices unprotected. We deploy Falcon sensors alongside or immediately after removing the old product, in planned groups, starting with a pilot. We map existing exclusions carefully to avoid blocking business applications, confirm every device reports to the Falcon console, and only then decommission the old platform.
Exclusions and tuning
Every organisation runs software that can look suspicious to security tools: backup agents, monitoring tools, developer utilities and line-of-business applications. Poorly managed exclusions create blind spots attackers can use, so we keep exclusions minimal and specific, document why each exists, and review them regularly.
Reporting
Monthly reports cover sensor coverage and health, detections and how they were resolved, high-risk devices, vulnerable applications where visible, and recommendations for management.
Licensing and modules
CrowdStrike is licensed by subscription per protected device, with modules added as needed. We help you select the modules that address your real risks, track renewal dates, and avoid paying for modules you don’t use.
What you get at handover
Fully deployed sensors, documented policies and exclusions, admin access in your company’s name with MFA, integration with your monitoring, and a support plan.
Threat intelligence in practice
CrowdStrike tracks many adversary groups, including criminal ransomware gangs and state-linked actors, and links detections to known attacker behaviour. For your team, that means alerts come with context: what kind of attacker is likely involved, what they usually do next and how urgent the response should be. Our analysts use this context to prioritise and explain incidents clearly.
Choosing a CrowdStrike partner
Ask how the partner designs policies and exclusions, how they manage sensor updates for critical systems, who monitors detections at night and weekends, and how quickly they can act using real-time response. Make sure the console and licences are registered in your company’s name, so you keep full control.
CrowdStrike for incident response
If you’re investigating an incident, Falcon’s recorded endpoint activity is invaluable: it shows which processes ran, which files changed and which connections were made, often across all devices at once. Real-time response lets analysts collect evidence, kill malicious processes and remove persistence remotely. Even organisations without CrowdStrike sometimes deploy Falcon rapidly during an incident to gain visibility and contain threats.
Case study
A fintech with devices across Windows and macOS deployed CrowdStrike Falcon with 24/7 monitoring by our SOC. A credential-theft attempt was detected and contained within minutes.
CrowdStrike questions, answered
What is CrowdStrike?
A global cyber security company known for its cloud-native Falcon platform for endpoint protection, threat intelligence and response.
What is CrowdStrike Falcon?
CrowdStrike’s security platform, with modules for antivirus, EDR, identity, cloud and more, delivered through one agent and console.
Is CrowdStrike better than Microsoft Defender?
Both are leading EDR platforms. Defender often makes sense if you already own it through Microsoft 365; CrowdStrike suits organisations wanting an independent, best-of-breed EDR. We compare for your environment.
Does CrowdStrike slow down computers?
The sensor is designed to be lightweight; most users don’t notice it.
Does CrowdStrike support Mac and Linux?
Yes, along with Windows and servers.
Can you deploy CrowdStrike remotely?
Yes, sensors are deployed remotely using your management tools.
Do you provide 24/7 monitoring for CrowdStrike?
Yes, through our Managed SOC, or alongside CrowdStrike’s own managed services.
Can CrowdStrike replace our existing antivirus?
Yes. We remove the old product cleanly during deployment.
How long does deployment take?
Most organisations are fully deployed within one to three weeks, including pilot and tuning.
Can CrowdStrike data feed our SIEM?
Yes. Falcon integrates with SIEM platforms so detections can be correlated with other logs.
Can CrowdStrike protect cloud servers?
Yes, Falcon sensors protect cloud workloads in Azure and AWS, and cloud security modules add posture management.
Is CrowdStrike only for large enterprises?
No. Mid-size organisations use it too, especially when they need enterprise-grade EDR with managed monitoring.
Do you supply CrowdStrike licences?
We can arrange licensing through authorised channels.
What happens to detections at night?
Our SOC monitors and responds 24/7, or works alongside CrowdStrike’s managed service if you use it.
Can we start with a pilot?
Yes. A pilot group lets you see detections and performance before full rollout.
Will we own the CrowdStrike console?
Yes. The console and licences are registered to your company, with full admin access.
