IT and ERP guides for Egyptian businesses

Practical, vendor-neutral guides written by the consultants and engineers who implement ERP systems and build IT infrastructure every day. No jargon, no sales pitch, just what you need to make better decisions.

ERP and business software guides

Ten in-depth guides for anyone choosing, implementing or improving ERP, accounting, payroll and inventory systems in Egypt. They complement our ERP software Egypt service pages and comparison articles.

IT infrastructure guides

Ten practical guides for office managers, IT leads and facilities teams planning networks, cabling, server rooms, Wi-Fi, CCTV, maintenance contracts and hardware. They pair with our IT infrastructure solutions pages.

Why we write these guides

Every week we meet business owners, finance managers and IT leads in Cairo, Alexandria and Giza who are about to make a big technology decision. Some are replacing spreadsheets with their first ERP. Some are moving office and need cabling, Wi-Fi and a server room ready in weeks. Others are trying to work out whether their accounting software is ready for Egyptian e-invoicing, or whether their CCTV setup meets the rules. Most of them tell us the same thing: there is plenty of information online, but very little of it is written for Egypt, and much of it is written to sell a single product.

These guides are our answer. Each one explains a topic from first principles, sets out the options honestly, and ends with checklists you can use straight away. They reflect local realities: VAT and Corporate Tax, the e-invoicing rollout, WPS payroll, free zone and mainland entities, Arabic and English documents, and the heat and dust that shorten the life of hardware in this region. Where a rule or product detail changes often, we say so and keep the guide updated.

You don’t need to be technical to use them. If you’re a decision-maker, read the key takeaways and checklists. If you’re the person who will run the project, the detailed sections give you the questions to ask vendors and the mistakes to avoid. And if you’d rather talk it through, our team is always happy to help through a free IT assessment or a short call with our ERP consultants.

Not sure where to start? Pick your situation

We’re choosing our first ERP.

Start with How to Choose ERP Software in Egypt: Buyer’s Guide, then read Cloud ERP for Small Business in Egypt: Getting Started Guide if you’re a smaller company. When you’ve chosen, the ERP Implementation Guide for Egypt Businesses explains how to deliver the project.

We need to be ready for e-invoicing and VAT.

Read VAT-Compliant Accounting Software in Egypt: Guide and our Egyptian e-invoicing page, which tracks the official deadlines.

We’re moving or opening an office.

Use the Office IT Relocation Checklist: Move Your Office Without Downtime, plan cabling with the Structured Cabling Guide: Cat6 vs Cat6a, Standards and Installation, and design wireless with the Office Wi-Fi Design Guide: Wi-Fi 6, Coverage and Performance. Our office IT solutions team can deliver all of it as one project.

We run a specific type of business.

Contractors should read the Construction ERP Software in Egypt: Complete Guide; landlords and property managers the Real Estate ERP & Property Management Software Guide (Egypt); traders and distributors the Supply Chain & Distribution ERP Guide for Egypt Traders.

Shorter reads from our blog

Our blog covers narrower questions in a more conversational way, from “what is IT infrastructure?” to choosing between server brands. Browse the ERP blog and the IT infrastructure blog, or start with these:

Checklists you can use today

Many guides include checklists you can print or copy into your own project plan. The most popular are the ERP go-live checklist, the ERP selection scorecard, the server room requirements checklist, the 12-week office IT relocation plan, the IT AMC contract checklist and the IT asset register template. Each sits inside its guide so you can see the explanation alongside it.

How we write and review guides

Every guide is drafted by a specialist on our team and reviewed by a senior consultant or engineer before publishing. We describe products and approaches neutrally, and where we implement or support a product ourselves, we say so. We don’t publish prices, because they change often and depend on your setup; instead, we explain licensing and cost models and the factors that drive effort. Guides covering regulations, such as VAT, e-invoicing, WPS and CCTV rules, are reviewed when official guidance changes, and the “updated” date on each guide shows when it was last checked. If you spot something out of date, please tell us.

Who these guides are for

Owners and general managers of small and mid-size Egyptian businesses; finance managers and accountants evaluating ERP, accounting and payroll systems; IT managers and system administrators planning infrastructure; facilities and office managers handling moves, fit-outs and security systems; and project teams in trading, construction, real estate, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education and logistics. If you work with technology in Egypt and want straight answers, they’re for you.
