Business apps, faster
Every organisation has processes that still run on spreadsheets, paper forms and email: leave requests, site inspections, asset checks, purchase approvals, visitor logs, quality checklists. They’re too small or too specific for a big software project, yet they waste hours every week and leave no reliable data behind.
Low-code platforms change the economics. They provide ready-made building blocks for screens, forms, data, workflows and integrations, so experienced developers can build working business apps much faster than with traditional code. Many organisations already own low-code tools: Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate come with many Microsoft 365 plans, and Oracle APEX is included with Oracle Database.
ITZone builds low-code applications for Egyptian businesses on Microsoft Power Platform and Oracle APEX. We design apps around real users, connect them to your data in Microsoft 365, Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle or your ERP, automate approvals and notifications, and put governance in place so low-code doesn’t become shadow IT.

What is low-code?
Low-code is an approach to building software using visual tools, ready-made components and configuration, with code added only where needed. Instead of writing every screen, database query and workflow by hand, developers assemble applications from building blocks, which significantly reduces development time. No-code tools go further and target non-technical users, but are usually more limited. Low-code platforms can produce serious business applications when used by skilled developers with proper governance.
What is Microsoft Power Apps?
Power Apps is Microsoft’s low-code platform for building business apps that run in a browser or on mobile devices. It’s part of the Microsoft Power Platform, alongside Power Automate for workflows and automation, Power BI for reporting, and Copilot Studio for chatbots. Power Apps connects to hundreds of data sources, including SharePoint, Excel, SQL Server, Dataverse, Dynamics 365 and many third-party services. Many Microsoft 365 plans include some Power Apps capabilities, while premium connectors and Dataverse require additional licences.

Low-code vs custom development
Low-code is ideal for internal apps, forms, workflows and departmental tools, where speed matters and users are known. Custom development suits customer-facing products, complex logic, high scale or unusual user experiences. Many organisations use both: low-code for internal efficiency, custom software for core products. We’ll recommend honestly. See Custom Software

Why low-code needs governance
Low-code makes it easy for anyone to build apps, which is powerful and risky. Without governance, organisations end up with hundreds of unmanaged apps and flows, unclear ownership, data copied into personal spaces, and broken automations when someone leaves. We set up a governance framework: separate development, test and production environments; data loss prevention policies controlling which connectors can be used together; naming and ownership standards; a catalogue of apps; and a lightweight review process for new apps. Citizen developers can then build safely, with IT oversight.
Power Automate for workflow automation
Power Automate connects apps and services to automate repetitive tasks: routing approvals, sending reminders, saving email attachments to SharePoint, creating records from forms, syncing data between systems and generating documents. Combined with AI features, it can extract data from invoices and forms. We design flows with error handling and monitoring, so automations keep working reliably.
Who benefits from low-code
Operations, facilities and maintenance teams, HR and finance departments, quality and safety teams, project teams, and organisations with Microsoft 365 or Oracle investments that want more value from what they already own.
Choosing a low-code development partner
Look for a partner that treats low-code as real software: designing for users, using proper data models, securing access, testing, documenting and supporting apps. Ask how they handle licensing, environments and governance, not just how quickly they can build.
Choosing where your low-code data lives
Many Power Apps start with SharePoint lists or Excel files because they’re familiar and included in Microsoft 365. They work well for simple apps with modest data. As apps grow, Dataverse offers proper relational data, security roles, auditing and business rules, while SQL Server or Azure SQL suits apps that share data with other systems. Oracle APEX apps use Oracle Database directly. Choosing the right data foundation early avoids painful migrations later, and we’ll recommend based on your volumes, security needs and licences.
Low-code and AI
Low-code platforms increasingly include AI features: Copilot can help build apps and flows from descriptions, AI Builder can read invoices, receipts and forms, and chatbots can be created with Copilot Studio. Used carefully, these features accelerate automation. We help you apply them where they add real value and with the right controls on data access.
Mobile and offline use
Inspection and field apps often need to work where connectivity is poor, such as construction sites, warehouses or remote locations. Power Apps and APEX support mobile layouts, camera and location capture, and, with the right design, offline data collection that syncs when back online. We test apps on the actual devices your teams use.
What you get at handover
Working apps and flows deployed to production environments, documentation of data, permissions and logic, admin guides, user training materials and a support plan.
Case study
An Egyptian facilities company replaced paper inspection sheets with a Power Apps mobile app and Power Automate workflows. Reports that took days now arrive instantly with photos.
