Microsoft Dynamics 365
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Cairo
Microsoft’s ERP for growing businesses: finance, inventory, purchasing, sales and projects in one cloud system that works naturally with Outlook, Excel, Teams and Power BI.
About Business Central
What is Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Dynamics 365 is Microsoft’s family of business applications. It includes ERP applications such as Business Central for small and mid-size companies and Finance and Supply Chain Management for large enterprises, plus CRM applications such as Sales and Customer Service. All are cloud-based and built to work with Microsoft 365, the Power Platform and Azure.
What is Dynamics 365 Business Central?
Business Central is Microsoft’s all-in-one ERP for small and mid-size businesses. It manages financials, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, projects, service and, in its Premium edition, manufacturing. It evolved from Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), one of the most widely used SME ERPs in the world, and is now offered mainly as a cloud service, with on-premise deployment also available.
Business Central’s biggest strength is how naturally it fits into the Microsoft world. Users open and edit data in Excel, see customer and vendor information inside Outlook, share records in Teams, analyse data in Power BI and automate tasks with Power Automate. For companies already running on Microsoft 365, it feels familiar from day one.

Configuring Business Central for Egyptian requirements
We set up Business Central for Egypt VAT, including tax posting groups, reverse charge, bilingual tax invoices and VAT reporting, using localization functionality and extensions where needed. We also structure the chart of accounts for Corporate Tax records, configure multi-currency and multi-company setups for free zone and mainland entities, and prepare for Egyptian e-invoicing as requirements are introduced.

Updates and extensions
Business Central in the cloud receives two major updates a year plus regular smaller updates, so you always have current features and security fixes. Additional functionality is added through extensions from Microsoft AppSource or custom extensions built with Microsoft’s AL language. Because extensions don’t change the core system, upgrades remain smooth. We test updates and extensions before they reach your users.
Moving from Dynamics NAV or GP
Many Egyptian companies still run older Microsoft ERPs such as Dynamics NAV or GP. Moving to Business Central brings cloud access, modern features and ongoing updates. We assess your current system and customizations, decide what to keep, replace with standard features or rebuild as extensions, migrate data, and plan the cut-over carefully.
Reporting and automation with Power BI and Power Platform
Business Central connects directly to Power BI, so finance and management dashboards update automatically from live ERP data: sales trends, margins, cash flow, receivables ageing and stock levels. Power Automate handles routine tasks such as approval notifications, document routing and reminders. Power Apps can create simple mobile apps on top of Business Central data, for example for site visits or stock checks. These tools let you extend the ERP without heavy custom development.
Security and reliability
Business Central online runs on Microsoft Azure, with Microsoft managing infrastructure, backups and availability. Users sign in with their Microsoft 365 accounts, so multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies apply to the ERP too. Permission sets control what each user can see and do, and change logs record important edits. We configure roles carefully during implementation and review access as part of support.
Industries using Business Central
Wholesale and distribution, professional services, retail head offices, light manufacturing and assembly, project-based companies such as engineering and fit-out contractors, and service businesses managing contracts and equipment.
Training and adoption
Because Business Central looks and behaves like other Microsoft tools, users adapt quickly. We train each department on its own processes using your data, provide quick-reference guides, and show users how to work with Excel and Outlook integration so they get the most from familiar tools.
What you get at handover
A configured and tested system, migrated and reconciled data, trained users, documentation of your setup and extensions, admin access in your company’s name, and a support plan.
Choosing a Business Central partner in Cairo
Ask whether the partner’s consultants understand accounting and Egypt VAT, how they handle localization, which extensions they rely on and who maintains them, and how they test the twice-yearly updates. Ask for references from companies of your size and industry, and make sure support after go-live is clearly defined, with response times in writing.
Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales
If you need more advanced CRM than Business Central’s built-in contact and opportunity management, it can be connected to Dynamics 365 Sales. Customers, items, prices and orders sync between the two, so sales teams work in a dedicated CRM while finance and operations stay in Business Central. For many SMEs, Business Central’s own sales features are enough to start with, and the CRM can be added later.
Case study
A Cairo distribution company already on Microsoft 365 implemented Business Central with Power BI dashboards. Finance closes faster and managers review live sales and stock in Teams.
